If you’ve ever wanted to take a culinary tour of Bermuda, then plan your trip between January and February. After a successful Restaurant Week in 2013, the Department of Tourism and over 36 restaurants collaborated to repeat their performance for an event that’s slated to become something foodies of all stripes can look forward to every year. With three set prices for the three-course prix fixe dinners — including a starter, an entrée and a dessert — diners can try some of the best dishes local chefs have to offer and know what to expect when the cheque comes around. Plus, wine pairings are offered at the same three-tier rates. Participating restaurants offer a variety of dining experiences from simple and casual to elegant and traditional dining. Flavours abound as local favourites like Bermuda’s fish chowder or locally caught seafood items prepared in inspired ways make their way to the Restaurant Week menus. Dedicated gourmands can take advantage of the month-long promotions to check out the many international eateries that can be found on this small island. “Bermuda’s reputation as a culinary destination has grown since last year’s inaugural Restaurant Week, as it created a heightened awareness of the island’s premier dining options amongst travellers and locals,” said William Griffith, director of tourism at the Bermuda Department of Tourism. “We are excited that our Bermudian and international chefs will have another opportunity to showcase their luxury travel dining and outstanding cuisine for all to enjoy.”
