FROM HIS LATEST RESTAURANT, MARCUS SAMUELSSON WEST FROM HARLEM TO BERMUDA'S PINK SANDS. Award-winning celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson is known for his multicultural, comfort-food empire, including Red Rooster Harlem in NYC, Norda in Sweden and a previous pop-up restaurant in Bermuda. In 2015, he opened a permanent restaurant, Marcus’, at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club. As the first celebrity restaurant on the island, the hot spot has been creating buzz for Samuelsson’s take on Caribbean cuisine. The restaurant’s menu features his signature globally influenced cuisine, but with a nod to local fresh ingredients and classic Bermudian dishes. Popular dishes include salmon on the grill, jerk pork belly and fried chicken and waffles. Additional dishes pay tribute to Bermudian culture, such as grilled Bermuda onion and fish chowder bites amongst others. Grab a seat at the floor-to-ceiling bar at the centre of the restaurant and order from a menu of craft cocktails. A must-try is the Darker and Stormier, a new spin on a local favourite made with ginger beer. And if brunch is on the brain, the Sunday brunch features unlimited bubbly. Now, that’s something to toast to! Reservations are encouraged. For more information, visit marcusbermuda.com.
